What is Body Sculpting?

Body Sculpting is a personalised, non-surgical treatment focused on areas you’d like to contour. Depending on your goals and suitability, Danielle may use Lipolase, Ultrasonic Cavitation and Radiofrequency to support a smoother, firmer-looking appearance. It isn’t a weight-loss treatment; it’s a way to focus on the appearance of specific areas of your body.

Your Treatment, Explained

  • Lipolase forms part of our body-contouring approach for selected areas.
  • Ultrasonic Cavitation uses ultrasound technology as part of a treatment focused on your chosen area.
  • Radiofrequency uses controlled energy to gently warm the treatment area and support the appearance of smoother, firmer-looking skin.

You may feel warmth, vibration or gentle pressure during your appointment. We’ll check that you’re comfortable throughout, and we’ll give you aftercare advice before you leave. Your treatment may use one or more of these technologies; all three won’t necessarily be used every time.

Results vary between people, and no particular change can be guaranteed.

      Modalities

Body sculpting can involve different treatment technologies, known as modalities, each with its own focus. These include ultrasonic cavitation for targeted body contouring, Lipolase for areas of localised fullness, and radiofrequency to support firmer, smoother-looking skin. Your practitioner will explain the options and help identify which may be suitable for your goals.

      LIPOLASE

      Targeted, non-invasive body contouring

Lipolase uses low-level laser energy as part of a non-invasive body-contouring treatment, targeting areas of localised fullness to help refine the appearance of your body shape. Specialised pads are positioned over the selected area, delivering light energy as part of a targeted approach to improving body contours.

      What you may experience

Treatment is generally comfortable, with little or no sensation from the laser pads themselves. The pads remain in position over the treatment area while the light energy is applied.

      Ideal for

Targeting localised fullness around the abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, arms and back.

      Lipolase is a body-contouring treatment, not a weight-loss treatment.

      ULTRASONIC CAVITATION

      Targeted ultrasound body contouring

Ultrasonic cavitation uses ultrasound energy as part of a non-invasive body-contouring treatment, targeting areas of localised fullness to support a smoother, more contoured appearance. A treatment handpiece is moved across the skin using a suitable conductive gel to deliver energy to the selected area.

      What you may experience

During treatment, you may feel gentle vibration, movement across the skin or mild warmth. Some people also experience a buzzing or ringing sensation in their ears. The sensations can vary depending on the individual and the area being treated.

      Ideal for

Targeting localised fullness around the stomach, waist, hips, thighs, arms and back.

      RADIOFREQUENCY

      Supporting firmer, smoother-looking skin

Radiofrequency, commonly known as RF, uses controlled energy to generate warmth within the treatment area, helping to improve the appearance of skin firmness, smoothness and texture. It can complement body-contouring treatments when you also want to improve the appearance of the skin over the selected area.

      What you may experience

You’ll feel a controlled warmth as the handpiece moves across your skin. Your practitioner will monitor the temperature of the treatment area and check your comfort throughout the session.

      Ideal for

Improving skin appearance around the abdomen, waist, thighs, arms and back, along with other suitable treatment areas.

RF focuses on skin appearance and can complement body-contouring treatments.

      Body Sculpting: Contraindications & Precautions

Please read this information before booking. Some health conditions or circumstances mean Body Sculpting cannot be carried out. Others may require us to adapt or postpone your treatment, or ask you to seek medical advice first. If you’re unsure about anything listed below, please contact us before your appointment.

      When treatment cannot go ahead

Body Sculpting should not be carried out if you:

      • Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
      • Have active cancer or are currently undergoing cancer treatment.
      • Have an active infection, open wound, ulcer, significant rash, inflammation or broken skin in the area to be treated.
      • Have a severe or uncontrolled medical condition.
      • Have recently had surgery in or near the treatment area and have not been medically cleared.
      • Have an implanted electronic device, such as a pacemaker, where the treatment technology may present a risk.
      • Have a metal implant or another implanted device in the treatment area that makes the proposed treatment unsuitable.
      • Have a condition that significantly reduces your ability to feel sensation or heat.
      • Have significant circulation or blood-clotting problems that could make treatment unsafe.
      • Have been advised by a healthcare professional to avoid heat-based or energy-based treatments.
      Conditions we need to assess

Please speak to me before booking if you have:

      • Diabetes, particularly if it is poorly controlled or affects your sensation or circulation.

      • Varicose veins or other significant vascular problems in the treatment area.

      • A history of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or blood clots.

      • A bleeding disorder.

      • A tendency to develop keloid or problematic scars.

      • Reduced sensation or neuropathy.

      • Significant liver or kidney disease.

      • A recent injury, surgery or cosmetic procedure in the treatment area.

      • An unexplained lump, swelling, pain or other change in the area you’d like treated.

      • A medical condition or medication that you think could affect your suitability.

Depending on your circumstances, I may need to modify or postpone treatment, or ask you to obtain medical advice before proceeding.

      Medication and supplements

Please tell us about all medication and supplements you take, including prescription and over-the-counter products. This is particularly important if they affect blood clotting or bleeding, sensation, healing, skin sensitivity or your response to heat.

We may ask you to seek medical advice before treatment where appropriate.

      Recent procedures

Please let us know if you have recently had surgery, liposuction, injections, fat-dissolving injections, body-contouring treatment, laser or IPL treatment, or another cosmetic procedure.

Treatment may need to be postponed until the area has healed adequately. Medical clearance may also be needed in some circumstances.

      Before each appointment

Please tell us about any changes to your health or medication before every treatment. If you develop an infection, rash, wound, significant swelling, unexplained pain or any other new symptom in the proposed treatment area, contact us before attending.

If we’re unsure whether treatment is appropriate, we may recommend that you speak with your GP or another suitably qualified healthcare professional. We may decline or postpone treatment if we believe it would be unsafe to proceed.

      Important information about suitability

This list is general guidance. It does not replace your individual health and suitability check or the manufacturer’s instructions for the specific Lipolase, Ultrasonic Cavitation and Radiofrequency equipment used.

Contraindications can differ between devices. We will follow the relevant manufacturer’s instructions and professional guidance when deciding whether treatment can go ahead.
