My Journey: From Corporate Life…

…to Helping People Feel Their Best

When people visit Massage by Danielle, they often see the treatment room, the therapies, and the results. What they don’t always see is the journey that brought me here.

I thought it might be nice to share a little of my story.

A Different Beginning

Before becoming a massage therapist, I spent more than 15 years working in the finance and advertising industries. On paper, everything looked successful, but over time I found myself drawn towards something very different.

I became increasingly interested in health, wellbeing, and the positive impact that touch therapy can have on both the body and mind. I loved the idea of helping people feel better, not just physically, but emotionally too. It was a passion that continued to grow until eventually I realised it was time to follow it.

Taking The Leap

Changing careers can feel daunting, but sometimes the biggest rewards come from taking a chance.

I enrolled at the Mary Ward Centre and began studying massage therapy, eventually qualifying with an ITEC Diploma in Swedish and Holistic Massage. What started as a new challenge quickly became a calling.

The more I learned about the human body, recovery, relaxation, and wellbeing, the more convinced I became that I had found the right path.

Learning Beyond The Classroom

One of the most valuable parts of my journey was volunteering as a massage therapist at the Royal Free Hospital.

Working with a wide variety of people allowed me to gain invaluable experience and deepen my understanding of how massage can support physical recovery, emotional wellbeing, and overall quality of life.

Every person was different. Every treatment was different. And every session reinforced my belief that massage is far more than a luxury. It can be a powerful part of self-care and healing.

Why I Love What I Do

The truth is, my favourite part of this profession isn’t the techniques or qualifications, it’s the people.

Many clients initially come to me because they’re dealing with stress, tension, pain, poor sleep, pregnancy discomfort, or simply the pressures of everyday life. What I love is building a therapeutic relationship where they feel comfortable, listened to, and cared for.

There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing someone leave a treatment feeling lighter, calmer, and more like themselves again.

Continually Growing

Over the years I’ve expanded my skills to include a variety of specialist treatments including:

  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Pregnancy Massage
  • Warm Bamboo Massage
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage
  • Natural Facelift Therapy
  • Relaxation Massage
  • Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage
  • Madero Therapy

Every client is unique, which is why no two treatments are exactly the same. I believe in tailoring every session to the individual, listening to what the body needs and adapting accordingly.

Looking Forward

When I started this journey, I simply wanted to help people feel better.

Today, that remains exactly the same.

Whether you’re visiting for pain relief, stress management, recovery, relaxation, or simply some well-deserved time for yourself, I’m grateful for the trust you place in me.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

“Massage is not just a luxury; it’s a pathway to healing and wellbeing.”

I look forward to welcoming you soon.
